JATS Publishing 1.3 XML structures article metadata, sections, citations and references. The package includes images, a validation report and an HTML preview for editorial review.

Use the source DOCX. Complex layouts, equations and ambiguous citations can require manual correction. PDF/OCR and an OJS viewer plugin are not included.

XML supports technical readiness for OJS and submission preparation for DOAJ, EBSCO/CINAHL, Web of Science (Clarivate), and Scopus. Acceptance and indexing are determined by each service.
